Diablo III Announced
At World Wide Invitational in Paris, Blizzard officially announced the third installment in the Diablo franchise! A short demo showed off the Barbarian & witch doctor classes, picking up God Of War like red orbs as health, busting through walls, which also does damage to enemies, co-op, customized equipment for each class, promising more quests than in previous titles, improved controls, easy access to skills through a revamped hotbar, and of course all in nice 3D. FIFA 09 Officially Announced

Windows Kernel Patch Causes Vista SP1 to Restart Randomly
An update to the Windows Kernel fails to play all that well with Windows Vista Service Pack 1 causing the operating system to restart randomly. Microsoft informed that KB932596, an update designed to improve Kernel Patch Protection in the 64-bit versions of the Windows client and server operating systems, is in fact responsible for scenarios in which x64 versions of Vista SP1, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2003 are rebooting at random. Forget Opera 9.5 - Opera 9.51 Final Available for Download
Forget about Opera 9.5, Opera 9.51 Final is now available for download. At the start of July, Opera dropped Release Candidate 3 for Opera 9.5 and indicated that it was moving to the RC4 development milestone ahead of finalizing the first update for version 9.5. As of Build RC3, Opera had introduced tweaks to the browser’s installer and to the mechanism which permits users to save everything from websites to images, revealed Claudio Santambrogio, QA Desktop Test Manager. 50,000:1 Contrast Ratio LCD from Acer
About one month ago, Acer announced a 24-inch full-HD display, classified as being a “world’s first”. We have not seen that on the market yet, but Acer says it has another wild beast in development, the 24-inch Acer G24 LCD monitor with a 50,000:1 contrast ratio. No word on where it will be available or how much we will have to pay for it, but we can rest assure that it won’t come cheap. Here is what Acer says about its new product, “Staying at the forefront of technology, the G24 includes Acer Adaptive Contrast Management (ACM), and is the world’s first LCD monitor supporting up to 50,000:1 for outstanding contrast ratio. Acer ACM produces dramatic improvement in gradation and detail, especially for dimmer and brighter scenes, resulting in stunning picture quality. IE8 Beta 1 Update for XP SP3 and Vista SP1 Available
Internet Explorer 8 is evolving to the next level, even though it is still in Beta stage. However, the evolution does not mark the jump from Beta 1 to Beta 2 stage, but the introduction of new capabilities along with this month’s security patches for the browser. In this context, Microsoft made available the first update for Internet Explorer 8 through Windows Update. Terry McCoy, Program Manager Internet Explorer Security revealed that the Redmond giant had started serving the IE8 Beta 1 June Security Update through WU. Read more

The first public beta of Internet Explorer 8 is alive and kicking. Well, you have been waiting for it for more than a year. Microsoft has successfully kept the lid closed on the work it was doing with Internet Explorer 8, more so than on the work poured into Windows Vista SP1, Windows XP SP3 and Windows Server 2008.
